VIOLET ERDMANN

Violet S. Erdmann, age 86, of 1721 Lilac Drive, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at Phipps Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 502 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Chris Schwab will officiate with burial of her cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery. Violet was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Otto and Clara Voight Schuster. She grew up and was educated at Wausau, moving to Manitowoc in 1936. She married Clifford Erdmann on Sept. 16, 1939 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1997. Violet was self-employed sewing draperies at her home. She loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and flower gardening. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Dennis Erdmann of Chicago Heights, Ill.; James and Susan Erdmann, Manitowoc; Doris and Earl Skattebo, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Linda Irvine and husband, Tom; David Erdmann and his wife, Stephanie; Jon Erdmann; Scott Skattebo and his wife, Marlene; Susan Skattebo; Chad Erdmann and his wife, Shannon; Tammy Erdmann and her husband, Adam Quinn; nine great-grandchildren: Sam and Alex Irvine; Amber and David Skattebo; Paul and Addie-Jo Erdmann; Graylen and Jameson Erdmann; Emily Skattebo; and one sister: Elvira Ballard, Wausau. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; one brother and one sister. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the Erdmann family.
