SYLVESTER FERGUSON

Sylvester K. Ferguson, 83, of 848 Lincoln Blvd., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at
Scottsdale, Ariz., while visiting his son, Gerald.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of
First Presbyterian Church Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate
and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ferguson was born Dec. 23, 1887, at Chicago, son of the late James and
Mary Kilby Ferguson. He was employed at Lakeside Packing Co., Manitowoc, until
his retirement in 1959. He married Eulelia Stone, March 26, 1913, at Maywood,
Ill. He was a member of the Elks Lodge NO. 687 and served as past exalted ruler.
He was also a member of the Masons, the Shrine and past president of the
Wisconsin Canners Assn. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary
in 1963.
Survivors include three sons, Sylvester, of Dundee, N.Y., Gerald, of Scottsdale
and Robert, of Manitowoc, 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His
wife preceded him in death in 1970.
Friends may call at Urbanek & Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday until noon Saturday and then at the church until time of service.
Memorials may be made at the Shrine Crippled Children’s Fund.

Announcement of the approaching marriage of Miss Eulalia Stone, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. K. Stone, Maywood, Ill., to Sylvester Furgeson(sic) of this city,
has been made. Mr. Furgeson is with the Manitowoc Pea Canners co., in this city
and has won a host of friends here. He was formerly at Maywood. The marriage
will be celebrated at an early date and the couple will probably make their home
here.

MANITOWOC MAN WEDS AT MAYWOOD, ILL
S.K. Ferguson and Miss Stone Wedded There Last Night
Maywood, Ill., the home of the bride, was the scene of the marriage of Miss
Eulalia Stone and S.K. Ferguson of this city, last evening, the wedding being
celebrated at the home of the bride's parents at 8:30. A.M. Johnson of this
city was among the guests at the ceremony which was a society event at
Maywood.
Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson will reach this city next Wednesday to make their future
home and will reside on North Seventh Street. Mrs. Ferguson is a prominent
society girl at Maywood and will receive a welcome in social circles here. Mr.
Ferguson has been a resident of Manitowoc for two years and is a member of the
office force of the Wisconsin Pea Canners company. Mr. Ferguson has won a large
circle of friends who held him in high esteem.
