Sidney G. Fewings, 63, of 1908 Western Avenue, died late Friday night at Holy
Family Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc, ___ ___ ___.
Mr. Fewings was born Nov. 1, 1893, at Barnstople, North Devon, England, and served
three and a half years with the English Navy before coming to this country and
settling here as a young man. On April 17, 1917, he married the former Fern
Burmeister at Milwaukee. Prior to his illness he was employed at the Manitowoc
Shipbuilding Inc. where he had worked since 1915. He was presently the foreman of
the pipe shop there. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Racing Pigeon Club.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert McCambridge of Manitowoc
and Mrs. Harland Manthey of Minneapolis; a brother Leonard and a sister Mrs.
Richard Cording, both of London, England, and three grand children.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Sunday to the time of services.
