MARY ALICE FINDLATER

MRS. FINDLATER DIES AT SHEBOYGAN
Was "Allie" Toombs Former Resident This City
Word was received here this morning of the death of Mrs. Frank Findlater at
Sheboygan, formerly Alice Toombs of this city. Mrs. Findlater was 45 years of
age and left this city fifteen years ago. She was a daughter of Joseph Toombs,
formerly local agent for the Goodrich Transit Co. for a number of years. The
family lived where Dr. Gleason now resides. The funeral will be held on Monday
in this city. Several relatives live here.

Former Resident Was Well Beloved By Many Friends
Mrs. Frank Findlater of Sheboygan, whose burial was held at Evergreen this
afternoon was widely known among the older residents of this city.
Alice Toombs Findlater was born in Manitowoc Nov. 20th, 1867; she married Mr.
Frank Findlater of Grand Rapids, Michigan Dec. 12th, 1895. After a ten years'
residence there they removed to Sheboygan, which has since been their home.
The news of the death of "Allie" as she was familiarly and lovingly called,
will sadden the hearts of a large circle of friends to whom her sweet and
charming nature had greatly endeared her. She had a peculiarly winning voice
and manner, and a generosity unsurpassed. The Toombs' home here was for many
years a social center and the gracious hospitality dispensed by the daughter
of the house will never be forgotten by the recipients.
But it was in her own family that her love and devotion were most fully and
beautifully shown. As sister, daughter, wife and mother, she found a complete
expression of the loyalty and devotion of her nature.
