Joseph Foreyt, 73, retired blacksmith, died last night at the home,
1208 Grand avenue. He had been ill six months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Pfeffer
funeral home in charge of the Rev. F.C. St. Clair of the St. James
church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Foreyt was born in Bohemia in 1864 and when a boy of eight
accompanied his parents to this city. He learned the blacksmith trade
and established a shop here. He spent a few years in Two Rivers and
returned to Manitowoc. After the World war he was employed as a
blacksmith at the shipyards, until he retired a few years ago.
Twenty-eight years ago he married Miss Katharine Miller. She survives
with one son, John, city.
Mr. Foreyt was the last charter membwer of the Z.C.B.J. society at
Two Rivers.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Thursday evening until
the hour of services Saturday.
