HECTOR R. FRANCAR

Dr. Hector R. Francar, 62, of 702 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Tuesday evening, Dec. 22.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Dr. Francar was born May 9, 1919, at Green Bay, Wis., son of the late Hector R.
and Selena DeCremer Francar, Sr. He married Elsie Leota Freed July 3, 1940, at
Chicago, Ill. He was a graduate of East High School, Green Bay, and Illinois
College Podiatry of Medicine, Class of 1940. He was a veteran serving as a
sergeant in 425 Army Air Force Base Unit from Dec. 12, 1942, to Nov. 26, 1945.
Dr. Francar came to Manitowoc in 1940, and opened his office of podiatry medicine.
In 1975, his son, Dr. Gary J. Francar, became an associate with him in his office.
He was a member of American Podiatry Society and Wisconsin State Podiatry
Association, a member and vice president of Wiconsin Suffolk Sheep Breeders
Association, and a member of Elks Lodge 687 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Leota; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and
Barbara Francar of Miami, Fla., Dr. Gary and Sherri Francar of Manitowoc, and
Dale and Beth Francar of Denmark; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bruce
Barnes of Richfield, Minn.; three sisters-in-law, Violet Mercedes and Lillian;
and eight grandchildren, Amanda and Noah Barnes, and Matthew, Rachel, Jennifer,
Tristan, Anna Clair and Morgan Francar. He was preceded in death by a son,
Michael; and three brothers, Clifford Francar, Dr. Milton Francar, and Dr. Gordon
Francar.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of
services.
