Mrs. William Franz, 66, of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, died at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc, early Tuesday. She had been stricken with a heart
attack on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday at the
First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, Rev. L.H. Koeninger
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born Helen Dickert on February 8, 1890 in the Town of Franklin.
On June 26, 1912 she was married to William Franz and the couple moved
to Manitowoc. After three years they moved to a farm in the Town of
Franklin, where they lived until 1930 when they again moved to
Manitowoc, residing on Waldo Boulevard. Mr. Franz, who died in 1938 was
employed as a mason.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs.
Mary Stracke of Racine, Mrs. Sophia Holz and Miss Clara Dickert of
Manitowoc. Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc after 2 pm Thursday until 10:30 on Friday when the body will
be moved to the church to lie in state until the time of services.
