WILMA A. FREUND

Wilma A. Freund, age 93, of 1901 Waldo Blvd, Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, October 16, 1998, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 1998, at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Bruce Bitter will officiate with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Wilma Thornton was born on February 12, 1905, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Hamel Thornton. She attended local schools and graduated from the old Manitowoc High School with the Class of 1922. She worked
in the office of the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company (Mirro) until her marriage on November 30, 1935, to Wilfred O. (Stubby) Freund. She was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church, the Ladies' Aid Society of the church on
which she served as Vice President, a life member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, A.A.R.P., a member of Bethesda Lutheran Home Corporation, Wisconsin Lutheran Child & Family services, WELS Lutherans for Life, and an associate member
of Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary A. (Robert J.) Orth, Manitowoc; one sister, Eleanor Oldenburg, Poulsbo, WA.; one cousin, Lorin Hamel, Milwaukee; nieces Dorothy Freund, Marion (Walter) Bahr, Shirley (Jack) Keller, Kathe Hewlett,
Joan Freund Wilson; and nephews John (Nona) Singer, Robert Williams, John (Patricia "Pat") Freund, Robert "Bob" (Vivian) Freund. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Wilfred "Stubby", on July 1, 1980; her son, James A., on May 15, 1957; her brothers Arnold, Victor, and Chester Thornton; her sister Lillian Singer; and three nephews, William Freund, Elwood Freund, and Raphael Sporer. Relatives and
friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to First German Ev. Lutheran Church or the Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
Reihbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Services, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
