Mae H. Fricke, age 87, of Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc,
formerly of 607 Chicago St., Manitowoc, entered eternal rest early Saturday,
Dec. 30, 2006, at the center.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi
on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Felton
with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mae was born May 2, 1919, in Stangelville in Kewaunee County. She was the daughter
of the late Frank and Antonette Mleziva Schwiner. Mae was employed for 33 years
until 1976 at the Hotel Manitowoc. In 1983 she retired from St. Mary's Home where
she had been employed for seven years.
On June 30, 1952, she married Erwin G. "Peanuts" Fricke, in Stangelville. He
preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1983. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi
and was a long time member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mae is survived by two very close friends: Malcom and Margaret Shaw, Manitowoc;
one sister-in-law: Irene Schwiner; nieces, nephews along with other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Erwin "Peanuts" Fricke; and two brothers:
Raymond and Benjamin Schwiner
Friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until
the time of services at 10 a.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, North 11th and St. Clair
streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
