Leonard E. Froling, 66, of 1107 Magnolia Ave., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Saturday morning at home.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo J.
Schmitt will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Froling was born April 26, 1909, at Marquette, Mich., son of the late Eskil
and Hilda Mackie Froling. He was educated in Marquette schools and was graduated
from Ironwood High School and Oshkosh Teachers College. He received his masters
degree from University of Wisconsin at Madison. He had been a Manitowoc resident
since 1962. He married Corinne Groll Dec. 30, 1963. He was sales manager for
Manitowoc Equipment Works from January of 1962 until the present time. He was a
member of BPOE Lodge No. 687, Travelers Protective Assn. and Holy Innocents
Catholic Church. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy in World War II from
1941 to 1946.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, (private), a step-son, (private, two
step-daughters, (private); a brother, Eskil Froling, of Marquette, Mich.; three
sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Evelyn) Sorenson, of Marquette, Mrs. Janet Mitchell, of San
Anselmo, Calif, and Mrs. Roger (Helen) Haskins of Reno, Nev.; a step-sister, Mrs.
James ((Marion) Pompo, of Frazier, Mich., five grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
other relatives.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, where
a wake memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. by Father Schmitt and an Elks memorial
service at 7 p.m.
