Mrs. Barbara Fuka, 101, a Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday evening, October 9, at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Harold Berryman will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Fuka, nee Barbara Stangel, was born Jan. 11, 1883, at Norman, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, daughter of the late George and Anna Meleziva Stangel. She married Lawrence Fuka in June, 1901, at Norman, Wisconsin. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1910. He preceded her in death in 1953.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Lillian) LeClair of Manitowoc and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Martin of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Joesph Yagle of Seattle, Washington; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lawrence (Theresa) Fuka of Manitowoc, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene, and a son, Lawrence.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 9 a.m. Friday to the time of services. There will be no Thursday evening visitation at the funeral home.

Barbara was the oldest of three children (two daughters & one son) born to
George A. & Anna M. (Vocadle) Stangel. She was born 22 January 1883 in Kewaunee
County, WI & according to data in his obit, she married Lawrence Fuka in 1901 in
Manitowoc, WI. Although they ultimately divorced, Barbara & Lawrence had four
children.

-o- Irene Marie (1920-1937)
After Lawrence & Barbara divorced, she moved out to Wilsonville, OR where she
lived with & looked after her parents. After they died, she moved back to
Manitowoc, WI where she died on 9 October 1984 at age 101.
