Mrs. Herman Gass, 52, of 912 N. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning at
Memorial Hospital, following an illness of nearly six months.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church,
the Rev. T. F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Gass was born Esther Frank, March 13??, 1911, in Kewaunee County, daughter
of the late William and Anna Pisha Frank. She came to Manitowoc as a young woman
and was graduated from Lincoln High School in 1928. Sept. 5, 1930, she was
married to Herman Gass at Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Donald of Milwaukee; a daughter, Evelyn
at home; mother, Mrs. William Frank of Two Rivers; four brothers, George of Port
Washington, Richard of La Grange Park, Ill., Louis of Two Rivers and Norman of
Glendora, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Delbert Witsaman of Chicago and Mrs. Herbert
Steltz of Two Rivers and a grandson.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church where the
body will lie in state until the hour of service.
