ARTHUR H. GEERDTS
Arthur H. Geerdts, 70, of 936 South 36th St., Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon
at his home following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. John Evangelical and
Reformed Church, the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery.
He was born Aug. 19, 1886, Manitowoc, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick
Geerdts. In 1910, he married the former Elsie Milski. Prior to his retirement
three years ago he was employed by the city of Manitowoc for 30 years with the
Cemetery and Parks Department. At one time he operated a grocery store on Tenth
and Green Streets.
Survivors are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Greenwood of green Bay, son
Arthur R. of Manitowoc; two half brothers, August Lange and Walter Bonchek of
Manitowoc; two half sisters, Mrs. Leonard Breitwisch of Manitowoc and Miss
Bernadine Lange of Los Angeles, and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The casket will be moved to the church at 11 a.m. Thursday and the body will
lie in state until the hour of services.
