Helen Mae Brown Erb, the daughter of Andrew Arthur and Jessie Mae (Hackett) Brown, was born in Giltner, Nebraska on June 27, 1917 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on May 22, 2001, at the age of 83 years.

She grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School. Helen taught country school for one year. She then worked at the Army Ammunition Depot during the war and then worked at Cruther's Grocery until her marriage.

Helen was united in marriage to Myron Erb on September 5, 1943. They lived in the Giltner community until retirement, when in 1988 they moved to Aurora.

Helen was a member of the GGG Club, Giltner Cemetery Board, Nibble-Nots, volunteer for the Bloodmobile and a member of Ladies Aid at Pleasant View Bible Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ray Brown.

Helen is survived by her husband, Myron of Aurora; son, Gary Wayne Erb and his wife Betty of Fort Collins, Colorado; two daughters, Myra Helen Higgins and her husband Clayton of Giltner and Kay Arlene Miller and her husband Allen of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, Gara Erb, Chris Erb, Dion Higgins, Chad Higgins, Darci Higgins, Michelle Kaechelein, Marci Elkabchi and Robert (Bobby) Miller; 2 great-grandchildren, Brina Elkabchi and Chloe Higgins.
