Edgar F. Glaeser, age 85, of 2209 Clark St., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening,
July 6, 1996, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at the
Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev.
Ronald Reimer will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to
follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born June 5, 1911, in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, son of the
late Herman and Mathilda Kattre Glaeser. He married the former Bernice
Staudinger September 10, 1935, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills.
The couple resided in Whitelaw until 1961 when they moved to Manitowoc. Mrs.
Glaeser preceded him in death March 6, 1992. Frank had been employed by Kellner
Brothers, Manitowoc Shipbuilding, Mirro Aluminum Company, Invincible Manufacturing
and Holy Family Hospital until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of St.
Paul's Catholic Church and Adoration Society, Eagles Aerie #706 and also performed
volunteer work for Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Judy Glaeser, Sheboygan,
Dennis and Barb Glaeser, Fond du Lac; one daughter, Kathy Glaeser, Manitowoc; one
son-in-law, Gary Christiansen, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Dr. Scott (Jullian)
Glaeser, Lisa (Antony) Joseph, Randy (Paula) Christiansen, Robyn (John) Bolling,
Michael Glaeser, Michele Glaeser, and Dustin Glaeser; a sister-in-law, Gladys
Glaeser; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Christiansen, brothers and sisters,
Mrs. Carl (Erna) Huebner, Mrs. Roland (Hulda) Wilharms, Herbert Glaeser, Mrs. Myron
(Hertha) Haupt, Bernard Glaeser, Leonard Glaeser; and infant sister, Adina Glaeser,
and a teenage sister, Mathilda Glaeser.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, where a
prayer service will be held at 7:30 Tuesday evening by Deacon Alan Boeldt. The St.
Paul Adoration Society will recite the Rosary at church at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
His friendly and uncomplaining attitude during his last few months of life was a
powerful example to all who knew him.
