Gilbert E. Gleichner S.r, 56, of 208 E. Parkview Lane, Manitowoc, died Friday evening, May 21, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Parkside Fuenral Home and 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. William Zimmer and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, with graveside military rites accorded by V.F. W. Otto Oas Post No. 659.
Mr. Gleichner was born March 20, 1926, at Manitowoc, son of Arthur Gleichner and the late Antonette Pilon Gleichner. He attended Manitowoc schools and served in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946. He married Doris Silbersack, April 10, 1948, at Manitowoc. Mr. Gleichner was employed at Mirro Aluminum Corporation as Quality Control. He was a third degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 710, a member of V.F.W. Otto Oas Post N. 659, Travelers Protective Association of America, National Management Association of Mirro Corporation Chapter 586, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris (Dolly); a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Kristine Gleichner of Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Schmitz,and Cheri and Jeff Korinek of Manitowoc; his father and stepmother, Arthur and Emma Gleichner of Jupiter, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Marie Gleichner of Houston, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Delmar Otis of Appleton, and four grandchildren, Patrick, Becky, Brian and Jessica. He was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert Jr.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Sunday evening where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 o'clock by Father Zimmer and Knights of Columbus Council 710.
