Mrs. Herman Goese, 84, of Mill Road, Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at home
following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First German Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born Anna Draheim Feb. 14, 1879, at Reedsville, daughter of the late
August and Amelia Krueger Draheim. She was married to Herman Goess in 1902 at
Reedsville. The couple moved to Manitowoc about two years later. Her husband
preceded her in death in 1943.
Among survivors are a son, Norman, of West Minister (sic), Md.; two daughters,
Mrs. Leslie Rapier and Mrs. Elmer Hogan, of Manitowoc; two brothers, John, at
Chilton and Oscar, of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Olm, of Newton and
Mrs. August Batterman, of Rosendale; three grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 3:30 P.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, until 1030 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church
and the body will lie in state until time of service.
