ALBERT R. GOHR

Albert R. Gohr, 94, a resident of North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc, formerly
of 1221 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon December 3, at Holy
Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at First
German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Gohr was born August 22, 1891, at Brookside, Wisconsin, son of the late
Albert C. and Emelia Kersine Gohr. He grew up and was educated at Brookside,
moving to rural Reedsville as a young man and farming there for 27 years then
moving to Manitowoc in 1946. Mr. Gohr was a carpenter working for Kasper
Construction Company until his retirement. He married Minnie W. Mack on
December 11, 1918. She preceded him in death in 1957. He then married Nora E.
Bratz on May 29, 1958. She preceded him in death in 1983. Mr. Gohr was a member
of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was formerly very active with the
Manitowoc Senior Citizens and received various awards from the Manitowoc Senior
Citizens. He was a retired member of the Local Carpenters Union.
Survivors include two brothers, Walter Gohr of Sioux City, Iowa and Otto Gohr
of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin; a sister, Elsie Gohr of Milwaukee; eight
grandchildren, Diane Kakuk of Two Rivers, Jerome Piepenburg of California,
Jean Maigatter of Waupaca, Wisconsin, Sandra Rezachek of Two Rivers, Randall
DeBauche of Two Rivers, Terance DeBauche of Brillion, Cynthia DeBauche of
Algoma and Donald DeBauce Jr. of Stockbridge, Wisconsin; 15 great grandchildren,
6 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a step-son, Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Eggert of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by a son, Edgar in
1976, a daughter, Bernice DeBauche in 1963, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, 5 pm to 8 pm Thursday and Friday at the church from 10 am to time
of services.
