Mrs. George (Iona) S. Goldie, 61, of 1713 Waldo Boulevard died Saturday evening
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, due to a heart condition.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phipps Memorial Chapel at First
Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Harold Wisner officiating. Burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Goldie was born Iona Stewart, Oct. 14, 1881, in the Town of Liberty, daughter
of the late James and Margaret Buchanan Stewart. She taught at Liberty Bell School
and before her marriage as a seamstress at Two Rivers.
On Oct. 12, 1906, she was married to George Goldie at Manitowoc, and the couple
resided on a farm in the Town of Newton. Her husband preceded her in death in
1942 and she moved to Manitowoc in 1943.
She was a member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and United Presbyterian Women and
Roberts Circle all of Manitowoc.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Goldie Tomachek, of Green Bay, Mrs.
Wilbur (Edith) Krueger of Reedsville and Mrs. Curtis (Jean) Larson of Manitowoc;
three sisters, Mrs. Arnold Swensen, of Sheboygan, Mrs. A. J. Hetzel of Tomahawk
and Mrs. Edward Swanson of Upsala, Minn.; four grandchildren and two great
grandchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral home until 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday when the casket will be moved to the chapel where the body will lie in
state until the hour of service.

STEWART-GOLDIE WEDDING
Rev. Johnson Officiates at Ceremony at Presbyterian Church
Miss Iona Stewart, a resident of the county south of the city and George Goldie
were principals to a wedding celebrated at the Presbyterian church on Tuesday at
which Rev. O.C. Johnson officiated. The attendants of the couple were Miss Effie
Goldie, a sister of the bride and John Goldie, a brother of the groom. The bride
is a daughter of James Stewart and the groom is a son of George Goldie Sr. The
couple will reside on the Goldie farm south of the city. Several out of town
relatives were here to attend the ceremony.
