Samuel J. Goldie, 73, 918 South 13th street, died this morning at the Holy
Family hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at the Pfeffer funeral home at 2 o’clock Monday
afternoon with the Rev. C. H. Phipps officiating. The body will be taken to
Milwaukee for cremation.
Mr. Goldie was born in 1873 in Newton and as a young man went to California
where he operated an orange grove for 40 years. Five years ago he retired and
returned to Manitowoc.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Frank O’Neil of Newton, Miss Jessie Goldie
of this city, and Miss Grace Goldie of Milwaukee. The body will be in state
from noon Sunday until the time of services.
