Howard Goodhew, Sr., 82, of 2230 Topsfield Rd., South Bend, Ind., a former
Manitowoc resident, died Sunday at Cardinal Nursing Home, South Bend, following
an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed United Church
of Christ, Manitowoc resident, died Sunday at Cardinal Nursing Home, South Bend,
following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed United Church of
Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Schultz will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Goodhew was born July 22, 1891, at Brillion, son of the late William and Mary
Luecker Goodhew. He received his education at Brillion schools. He married Clara E.
Drumm Sept. 26, 1921, at Manitowoc, residing at Manitowoc where he was a barber
for 53 years. The couple moved to South Bend in 1970. He was a member of American
Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 and First Reformed United Church of Christ and
former member of the local Barbers Union.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Howard R. Jr. and Wallace W.; a daughter,
Miss Carol Mae Goodhew; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Koenig and Mrs. Cora Koenig,
of South Bend and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
Memorials may be made to First Reformed United Church of Christ, Jens Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, is in charge of local funeral arrangements.
