ANNA GOTTSCHALK
FATAL MISHAP OCCURS
NORTH OF MANITOWOC
[Mrs. Noah Gottschalk Dies At Hospital; Car Turned Out To
Pass a Truck]
Mrs. Noah Gottschalk, 59, riding in a car with her husband this
afternoon on a trip back to Manitowoc from Mishicot, was fatally injured when
the car overturned in a ditch. Mr. Gottschalk had turned out to pass a truck on
County Trunk B three miles north of the city. Suffering from a fractured skull
and shock, Mrs. Gottschalk was brought to the hospital here but doctors
pronounced her dead. She lost considerable blood. Mr. Gottschalk escaped with
cuts and bruises.
In telling of the accident, he said that he thought the road
wide enough when he turned out to the left to pass a truck just ahead of him.
Both car and truck were proceeding south. As he turned the wheel to get back on
the highway Gottschalk said the car turned over on its side and threw his wife
out through the door.
The Gottschalks reside at 1305 Madison street. Before her
marriage to Mr. Gottschalk
19 years ago, the deceased was Mrs. Anna G.
Vieweger. Survivors are the husband; four sons, Roland, Florian, Harold and
Erwin Vieweger, all of this city; a brother, August Begalke; and four sisters.
Dr. Gerald Rau, coroner, announced there will be no inquest.
