William W. Granger, 68, of 1416 Gunnell Lane, Manitowoc, died Monday
morning, May 18, 1987 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral
services will be 12 noon Thursday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo J. Schmitt will officiate at the Mass of
Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Granger was born April 2, 1919 at Lynn, Massachusetts, son of the
late G. Frank Granger and Clara Rheaume-Granger Traurig. He grew up and
was educated at Lynn, Massachusetts and was a 1944 graduate of Boston
University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foreign Trade. He
married Mary Fitzgerald January 11, 1949 at Holy Innocents Catholic
Church. Mr. Granger was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He
was Chairman of the Board and President and Co-founder of WaterCare
Corporation and President of Granger Land and Mortgage Company who
developed Forest Estates, Forest Park and Granger Subdivision. Mr.
Granger was Past Director of the Water Quality Association in Manitowoc
and was a member of Manitowoc Planning Commission. Mr. Granger was a
member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge#687 and Warren's Breakfast Club. He was a
Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army in Europe and
North Africa.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son and daughter-in-law, William F.
and Kim M. Granger of Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan
C. Granger of Westport, Connecticut and Sara C. and Bruce G. Ando of
Weston, Connecticut; grandchildren include Matthew and Ethan Granger and
Bruce G. Ando Jr.; an aunt, Mrs. Gladys Rheaume of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Friends may call at Reinbold-Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, 5 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, where a prayer service will be 7:45
pm by Deacon William Klein. Memorials may be made to University of
Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Research Center at Madison.
