Private funeral services for the family were held on Wednesday,
August 12, 1992, at the Harrington Parkside Funeral Home. The Rev.
Arno Wolfgramm and the Rev. Bruce Bitter will officiate, with
burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born October 22, 1898, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late
August and Emma Rube Mahnke. She attended First German Evangelical
Lutheran Grade School, and the Manitowoc Public High School from
which she graduated.
She married William Grapentine on August 16, 1922, at St. John's
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty. He preceded her in
death in August, 1950. She was a life long member of First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, (private); nieces,
nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Arnold Mahanke; two
sisters, Etta Lutzke and Selma Marotek; and one great-grandchild.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
