Mrs. Alvina Grapentin(sic), 74, of 1117 South 24th street, died in
the hospital Tuesday night following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in First German
Evangelical Lutheran church, Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Grapentin, nee Alvina Willert, was born in Manitowoc in 1877 and
was married to the late Fred Grapentin in 1895. Mr. Grapentin died
in 1937. She resided at the homestead farm in the town of Newton
before moving to this city in 1938.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Augusta Willert of this city;
three daughters, Mrs. William Applekamp of Topaz, Mich., Mrs. Earl
Schwerzler of Burbank, Calif., and Mrs. Andrew Kaufman Jr., of this
city; three sons, William of Kaukauna and Fred and Walter, both of
this city; five sisters, Mrs. Jim Nobel of Pueblo, Colo., and Mrs.
Harry Brandenburg, Mrs. Walter Todl, Mrs. Art Weigen and Mrs. William
Uek all of this city; two brothers, Fred of Chicago and Edwin of this
city; 28 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Another son,
Charles, died in 1930.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer funeral home from 2 p.m. Friday until
10;30 a.m. Saturday when the body will be removed to the church until
the time of services.
