William H. Grapentine, 59, of 1413Wollmer street, died Thursday afternoon at the
Holy Family hospital, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran church, the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Grapentine was born in Liberty in 1891 and in 1922 married Miss Adela Mahnke
of Newton. They located on a farm in Liberty and in 1934 moved to this city. Mr.
Grapentine was a member of the maintenance crew at Evergreen cemetery until
January, 1949.

Survivors are his wife and a son, John, of this city.

Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. The casket will be
moved to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
