MARY GROBE

MRS. M. GROBE CLAIMED
AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Death came to Mrs. Mary Grobe at the hospital yesterday
after a long and patient siege of sufferings, the end coming somewhat expectedly
and as a relief from her suffering. She had been ailing for several months with
heart complications and had spent the last three weeks at the Holy Family
hospital. She was the daughter
of Matthew Bruder, who nearly 100 years ago
settled in the town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Grobe was born at Kossuth March 25, 1863,
being 64 years of age at the time of death. She had lived in this city for
nearly 44 years, coming here after her marriage in 1874. Mr. Grobe passed away
four years ago. Three children remain to mourn the passing of their parents,
being a daughter, Mrs. B. Friedenberger, with
whom the deceased made her home
in late years, at 810 North Tenth street, and two sons, Ben of Milwaukee and
Elmer of California. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Grobe is survived
by three brothers, Nic of Sheboygan, Matthew about whom nothing can be learned,
and John of Manitowoc, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Haas of Kossuth and Mrs.
Catherine Schrimpf of Sheboygan.
The Wattawa chapel was open this afternoon for
friends to view the remains and will be open this evening from 7 until 9:30.
Funeral services will take place at nine tomorrow morning from the chapel to the
Sacred heart church, and burial will take place at Evergreen.
