LULU GROFFMAN

Funeral services for Mrs. George Groffman, 76, of 716 North Seventh St.,
Manitowoc, who died Monday at Beloit, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at
the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Dr. C. H. Phipps of the First
Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
She was born Lulu Noyes in Clarks Mills in 1875 and later located with the
family in Manitowoc, where she attended the north side high school. She was
married to George Groffman, former Manitowoc police chief, in 1898. He died
in 1943.
For the past year she had been residing with a daughter, Alice, a teacher at
Beloit. Mrs. Groffman was a member of the Lois Society and the Missionary
Society of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Alice of Beloit and Mrs. Arthur Schlei of
Manitowoc; son George Jr., of Floral Park, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of services.
