From Der Nord Westen, 01 Feb. 1900:
The funeral of Reinhard Groll, whose death we reported briefly in last
week's edition, was held Sat. from the German Methodist Church. The
deceased was just 28-yrs. old when he succumbed to consumption, leaving
his widow and one child. In addition he was survived by his elderly
parents, 4 brothers and one sister.

ASLEEP, TO WAKE NO MORE.
Reinhardt Groll Answered Final Summons, Last Evening.
Death's Messenger came to Reinhardt Groll at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Groll, on Hamilton street, at 8
o'clock last evening. He had prepared to retire and had lain
himself down, falling asleep on earth to awake in perfect rest
above. Consumption was the cause of death, but although deceased
had suffered many months, no immediate danger was anticipated
and the sudden summons was a terrible shock to members of the
family.
Decedent was born in this city 28 years ago and was a painter
by trade. He was well and favorably known throughout the city
and county and had many friends, who will regret his demise.
He was married in September 1897, to Miss Annie Reiss who with
one daughter survives to mourn the loss of a loving husband and
kind father. His parents, four brothers and one sister, also
survive. The funeral will be held Saturday from the German M.E.
church at 2 o'clock p.m., services to be conducted by Rev.
Romoser.
