RICHARD R. GROLL (d. 1969)

Richard R. Groll, 78, of 145 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James Episcopal Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. William Harvey will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Groll was born Jan. 17, 1891, at Manitowoc, son of the late Benjamin
and Theresia Groll Hansen. He was later adopted by the Rudolph Groll
family.
He married Renee Voelchert May 20, 1914, and she preceded him in death July 22,
1948. Mr. Groll married Blanche Drumm May 20, 1950, and she preceded him in
death June 10, 1951; and he then married Pearl Horst July 19, 1952. Mr. Groll,
a member of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65 F. and A.M. and the Royal League.
He was a foreman at Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc, where he was employed for
40 years, retiring March 1, 1956.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don of Manitowoc and Alan of Rt. 4,
Manitowoc; a brother, Ben Hansen, of Two Rivers; six grandchildren and three
great grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 4 p.m.
Thursday until 1:30 p.m. Friday and then at the church.

RETURNS FROM DETROIT TO CLAIM BRIDE
Marriage of Miss Renee Voelchert & Rich Groll Today
Miss Renee, daughter of Fred Voelchert and Richard R. Groll, were married at the
parsonage of the German Lutheran Church at 6 o'clock this morning and following
a wedding breakfast at the Voelchert home, departed from a honeymoon trip to
Green Bay, Appleton and other points. Owing to the recent death of the bride's
mother, the wedding was a quiet one, only the attendants to the couple, Miss Irma
Schultz and Fred Voelchert Jr., being present.
Mr. Groll, for some time has been located at Detroit. He is a Manitowoc man and
with his bride attended the local schools. Miss Voelchert is one of the city's
well known young ladies and has always made her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Groll will
return here to make their home and will be at home to friends after June 15 at 618
Jay Street.
