BRAVE FIGHT FOR RECOVERY
Mrs. Maude Gruhle(sic Dies at Hospital Today
Death ended a brave fight for recovery of health for Mrs. Maude Frazier Gruhle,
wife of Charles Gruhle, at the hospital at 6 o'clock this morning, the end
coming peacefully after many months of suffering. Mrs. Gruhle had been ailing
for several years but her condition was not deemed critical until about six
months ago. She has been a patient at the hospital for several months. The
funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home at 811 Huron
street, the Rev. M. S. Weber officiating at the services. Burial will be at
Evergreen.
Married at Whitewater
Born at Whitewater, Wisconsin April 22, 1880, Maud Frazier was married in that
city September 11, 1901 and after a honeymoon trip came to Manitowoc to make
her home. She made a wide circle of warm friends here and took an active part
in the social life of the community. One child, a daughter, Dorothy, was born
to the couple and she is survived by her husband, the daughter, her mother, Mrs.
May Frazier, and one brother, Claude Frazier of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Uncomplaining and Cheerful
During the long period of her suffering Mrs. Gruhle was always of cheerful
disposition and was uncomplaining even when it appeared that her recovery was
beyond hope. In the circle of her wide acquaintanceship she will be missed by
all. To the bereaved family sincere condolence will be offered.
