Casimer Grych, 46, of 627 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at Marinette General Hospital. He had been removed to the hospital shortly before from temporary residence at 1301 Main St., Marinette.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Grych was born Dec. 28, 1916, at Krakow, Shawano county, son of the late Michael and Mary Lucas Grych. He attended parochial schools at Krakow and Green Valley and came to Manitowoc in 1938. Currently he had been employed at Lauerman's Marinette department store.
Mr. Grych served with the armed forces in World War II, entering service March 21, 1941, and serving to May 18, 1945. He was awarded three bronze stars for campaigns in the South Pacific Theater and also received the silver star for gallantry in action.
Surviving are a brother, Charles, and two sisters, Mrs. John Elliott and Mrs. Lester Fleischman, of Manitowoc and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. Graveside rites will be by Drews-Bleser Post No. 88, American Legion.
