Mrs. John Guse, 80, of St. Peter, Minn., formerly of Manitowoc,
died Saturday at St. Peter.
Private funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and
Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The casket will be
unopened.
The former Clara Machmiller was born May 15, 1883, at Fairbanks,
Iowa, daughter of the late Rev. Karl and Martha Fuerstenau Machmiller.
Her father was pastor of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc, for 37 years. She was married to the late Rev. John Guse
June 15, 1904, at Manitowoc. Her husband served a number of parishes
in Minnestota.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Francis J. Asuma, of Manitowoc; two
nieces, Mrs. John Stanton and Mrs. A.H. Flowers Jr. of Milwaukee; and
two nephews, Fred Guse of Manitowoc and Frank Guse of Fort Worth,
Texas. Her husband died May 20, 1929, and an only son, Arnold Guse,
died June 21, 1934.
