Robert Gustaveson, 71, of 400 E. Reed Avenue, Manitowoc, died Friday evening
at St. Mary Hospital, Rhinelander.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church Chapel,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Eric Rauch will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion
Drews Bleser Post 88.
Mr. Gustaveson was born Feb. 5, 1904, in Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late
Herman and Anna Halverson Gustaveson. He attended Manitowoc public schools and
was graduated from Lawrence University, Appleton. He was an office worker in
motels in Merrill and Milwaukee area. He was an avid sportsman and fisherman.
Mr. Gustaveson, a World War II veteran from Sept. 12, 1942 was discharged as first
lieutenant, Nov. 5, 1945. He then re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and
was discharged in 1955. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Hazel Peterson, of Manitowoc. Two brothers
preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and
from noon on Tuesday at the chapel until the hour of service.
