Succumbs At His Home After a Lingering Illness
Charles Haase, 80, died last night at his home at 1028 South 14th street after a
lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o’clock from the Wattawa,
Urbanek and Schlei funeral home with the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Interment
will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Haase was born in Germany January 19, 1855. He came to this country and to New
London, Wis., at an early age. He came to this city 42 years ago and was an employe
of the North Western railroad company. Later he was employed by the American Seating
company; when that company left town several years ago, Mr. Haase retired. He married
Mary Kuppernus on December 15, 1876. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
nine years ago.
Survivors are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Emil Podhola, city; three sons, George,
William, Ernst, city; and three grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from this evening on to the time of the funeral at the Wattawa,
Urbanek and Schlei funeral home.
