Mrs. Paul Hans, 78, who resided with her nephew and niece, Mr. and
Mrs. John Leiker of 427 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. James Craanen will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Hans, nee Josephine Schlegelmilch, was born Oct. 7, 1892, at
Manitowoc, daughter of the late Gustave and Mary Swokowsky Schlegelmilch.
She was married to Paul Hans Nov. 3, 1928, at Milwaukee. The couple
resided at Milwaukee until 1942 when they moved to Hazelhurst, Wis.,
where they operated the Northern Bay Resort. Her husband preceded her
in death in 1962. Mrs. Hans ran the resort until her retirement three
years ago.
Survivors include two nephews and a niece (Survivors omitted for
privacy.)
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday where a
rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
