CLARENCE PALMER HANSEN

Clarence Palmer Hansen, 77, of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, and formerly of 851 No. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, with the Dr. Robert Corl of Madison officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Hansen was born July 10, 1885, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Peter and Karen Christensen Hansen. He married Grace Ramsour June 22, 1916, at Fennimore, Wis. After becoming a craftsman at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf he was employed at American Seating Co. at Manitowoc and moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., at the time the factory moved there. He returned to Manitowoc after five years at Grand Rapids and was employed as a craftsman at Burger Boat Co. Inc., Manitowoc, until his retirement. He also operated the Hansen Upholstering Co. of Manitowoc. He was an ardent bowler and baseball player. He was a left handed pitcher with the old Manitowoc Braves. He was a member of the National Fraternity of the Deaf and a member of the Manitowoc Silent Club. His wife died in September of 1961.
Among survivors are a son, Arden of Manitowoc and a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Daron, of Manitowoc; two brothers, Edwin, of Manitowoc and Orin, of Schenectady, N.Y., and two grandchildren, John and Joan Schaefer.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church and the body will lie in state until time of service.
