Mrs. Anton C. Hansen, 78, lifelong resident of the city, died this
morning at the home, 718 North Ninth street. She had been confined
to her bed the past two years and suffered a paralytic stroke a few
years ago.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., from the First
Lutheran church, the Rev. R.B. Walden officiating. Interment will be
in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Hansen, nee Emelia Sorenson, was born in this city in 1859, the
daughter of Capt.and Mrs. Lars Sorenson. Her father was lost in the
Seabird lake disaster in 1870.
In 1884 she was married to Anton C. Hansen, who was connected with
the Madson Seed company for many years. He died in 1930.
Mrs. Hansen was a charter member of the Ladies Aid society of the First
Lutheran church and was also a member of the Prisca society. She was an
active church worker, serving as organist and in the choir many years.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Paul Gehling, Milwaukee; four sons,
Abner E., Warner L., and Roland M., all of this city, Norvin D., Portland,
Ore.; and five grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Frazier mortuary until Monday at 11 a.m.
when it will be moved to the First Lutheran church to lie in state until
the hour of the services in the afternoon.
