Mrs. Spencer M. Hansen, 78, of 1835 New York Ave., Manitowoc, died Wednesday
morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a short illness. Funeral
services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund Olsen will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mrs. Hansen, nee Emma Lensing, was born May 26, 1887 in the Town of Kossuth,
daughter of the late John and Louisa Lensing. She lived at Mishicot and after
her marriage to Mr. Hansen June 15, 1910, at Manitowoc, the couple lived at
Manitowoc. He died in 1964.
Survivors are two sons, Arthur of Manitowoc and Milton of Plymouth; three
daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Bernice) Marken, Mrs. Louis (Alice) Musil and Mrs. Ruhl
(Norma) Metzger of Manitowoc; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two
sons preceded her in death, Theodore in military action in Austria in 1945.
She was chairman of the church Esther Circle, a Gold Star Mother, member of the
American Lutheran Churchwomen and the Rebekah Lodge.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral home, Manitowoc, after 3 pm
Friday until noon Saturday and then at the church. The Rebekahs will have a
memorial service at 7:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.

In the home which the groom has prepared for their future occupancy and in the
presence of a small gathering of relatives, Miss Emma Lensing, a popular
Mishicot girl and Spencer Hansen of this city pledged their vows in a ceremony
performed at 3 this afternoon by Rev. O.K. Espesth. Miss Ella Witte and Mead
Thompson attended the couple and the ceremony was pretty and simple. The bride
has made her home in this city for some time as stenographer for the Stoltze
Mfg. Co. The groom is a son of Rasmus Hansen and is a young man whose friends
number legion and have confidence in him. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen will take up their
home at 716 Tenth Street at once.
