DIPTHERIA CLAIMS SECOND CHILD IN FAMILY OF EDGAR HANSEN WITHIN THREE WEEKS FRIDAY
Diphtheria, for a second time within three weeks, has claimed a victim in the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hansen, North Fourteenth street, Gertrude, a six-year-old
daughter of the family, succumbing to the disease yesterday. Two weeks ago Ruth,
aged 5, died after ____ ___ to diphtheria and her ____ the first in a family of ___
children.
___ ____ that medical science can suggest is being done to stay the ravages of the
disease in the Hansen home where a third child, a son, is reported seriously ill
and in danger of death. The home has been under quarantine for several weeks owing
to the prevalence of the disease.
The funeral of little Gertrude was held this afternoon and was a private burial,
owing to the contagious disease. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen will have the sympathy of the
public.
