Mrs. Peter Hansen, 84, of 851 North Tenth street, lifelong resident of city
and county, died Saturday afternoon at the home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul's Lutheran
church, the Rev. R.B. Walden officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen
cemetery.
Mrs. Hansen, nee Carrie Christensen, was born at Cato in 1860 and in 1883 was
married to Peter Hansen. They located in this city where for years Mr. Hansen
was employed at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding company. He died in 1917.
Mrs. Hansen was active in church circles for many years. She was a charter
member of the Ladies Aid society of the St. Paul's Lutheran church and served
as an officer of the society. In recognition of her long and faithful services
she was given a life membership certificate in the Women's Missionary Federation
of the church. It was the first one presented to a Manitowoc member.
Survivors are three sons, Clarence of this city, Edwin of Philadelphia, Orin
of Schenectady, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Jacobson and Mrs. Martin Onstad
of Green Bay; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Frazier mortuary and will be moved to the church
at 11 a.m. Tuesday to lie in state until the hour of the services.
