Mr. Paul E. Hansen, 72, of 850 N. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening, Jan. 2, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Private family services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Jens Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc. Rev. Daniel Felton will officiate. Cremation will have taken place and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Hansen was born May 4, 1911, at Manitowoc, son of the late E. Edgar and Ida Sanderson Hansen. He attended schools in Manitowoc. Mr. Hansen was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co. as an apprentice. He married Ann Reedy on Aug. 21, 1947, in Cooperstown. The couple made their home in Manitowoc. Mr. Hansen received the Maritime Commission in New York and served as a chief engineer in the merchant Marines during World War II. He returned to Manitowoc where he owned and operated his own business known as Lakeland Tool and Machine Shop at 906 S. 26th St. He was a member of Eagles Aerie No. 706 and a member of the Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; two sons, Paul B. Hansen of Manitowoc and Mark J. Hansen of Madison; five daughters and a son-in-law, Joann and Henry Schmitt of DePere, Paula Ibsen of West Bend, Wis., and Miss Christine, Miss Mary J. and Miss Ida G. Hansen of Madison; four brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Polly Hansen and Gordon and Leona Hansen of Manitowoc, Robert and Thelma Hansen of Wauwatosa and Vernon and Beatrice Hansen of Madison; a sister, Mrs. Clara Promen of Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Benjamin J. Ibsen of West Bend and Mark Paul Schmitt of De Pere. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
There will be no Wednesday evening visitation. Memorials may be made in Mr. Hansens name. Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
