Laura Hougen Hanson, age 104, died on Wednesday, January 15, 1992 in Madison, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Halvor C. Hanson of Chicago, Illinois, where they resided for many years. She is survived by three sons, Thomas C. Hanson of Lady Lake, Florida, Dr. John O. Hanson of Stuart, Florida, and Dr. Harold C. Hanson, of Urbana, Illinois; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine J. Koons of Stuart, Florida, and Mrs. Marion L. Benton of Tocoma (sic), Washington; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Dr. Joel Hougen of Austin, Texas, and Harold Hougen of Houston, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 1992 at the The Methodist Retirement Center, 110 South Henry Street. Reverend Andrew Rogness will officiate. Memorials may be made to Luther College Museum, Decorah, Iowa.
