TWO RIVERS MAN DIES AT LOS ANGELES
TWO RIVERS, Sept. 1-Word was received in Manitowoc yesterday of the
death of Robert F. Hartung of Chicago who pased (sic) away Thursday
night at 11:20 at Los Angeles where he had been visiting his brother-
in-law Henry Towsley.
Mr. Hartung had been ill only two weeks and the news of his death was
recived here with surprise.
Born at Two Rivers in 1862, Mr. Hartung spent the greater part of his
lift (sic) at Chicago, where he did carpenter work. He leaves his widow,
Mrs. Matilda Hartung, a former Manitowoc woman and a daughter, Mrs. Emil
Fehring of Chicago. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. William
Schuetze of this city, Mrs. Stelzer of Mishicot and a brother, August
Hartung of Chicago.
The wife of August Hartung is critically ill at her home at Chicago and
doubt is expressed for her recovery. Her sister, Mrs. Mary Ryan,
Washington street, Manitowoc is with her.
The body of Mr. Hartung was shipped from Los Angeles last night and the
funeral will be held at Manitowoc upon its arrival with burial to be in
Evergreen cemetery. Although details of the funeral have not been
completd (sic), it will probably be held from Mrs. Ryan's home, Mrs. Ryan
being a sister-in-law of Mr. Hartung.

The body of Robert Hartung, former Two Rivers man, arrived here yesterday
afternoon from Los Angeles, Calif., and the funeral was held at 2 o’clock
this afternoon at the home of Mr. Hartung’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ryan,
Washington street and burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Leroy Grimes of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, arived (sic) yesterday
called here to attend the funeral of Robert Hartung who died at Los
Angeles and whose body was brought back here yesterday for burial. The
funeral was held this afternoon.
