FLOYD C. HARVEY
Suffering a sudden heart attack at his home on route 2, Two Rivers, a short distance north of Memorial drive, Floyd C. Harvey, 60, veteran North Western road engineer, died early today.
Mr. Harvey, who for the past several years had been an engineer on the
streamliner "400" between Milwaukee and Green Bay, had made his last trip with the train Wednesday of this week and had been enjoying good health previous to the fatal attack this morning.
Masonic funeral rites will be conducted at the local temple at 3 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Born in York, Nebr., in 1889, Mr. Harvey came to Wisconsin as a young man to take up railroading for the North Western line out of Kaukauna in 1900. Later, after serving several years as a fireman, he became an engineer on steam powered locomotives for the line.
In 1914 he came to Manitowoc where he had since continued to operate steam and diesel engines in this section of the state.
In addition to the Manitowoc Masonic lodge, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Engineers.
In 1912 he married the former Catherine Vlake of Kaukauna, who survives with a son, Charles, of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Schultz of Battle Creek, Mich.; Mrs. Gerald Schleis of Appleton and Miss Joan, a student at Western Michigan college; a brother, Charles Harvey of Kaukauna; and four grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Pfeffer funeral home from Monday afternoon until removal to the Masonic temple at 10 a.m. Tuesday where it will lie in state until the time of services Tuesday afternoon.
