Wednesday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be
at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The
Rev. Norval W. Kock will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Haupt ws born April 15, 1891, at Manitowoc, son of the late August C. and
Elizabeth Schmiedicke Haupt. He attended the rural school, District No. 8, of
Newton. He married Clara I. Mahnke July 11, 1917, at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church. He operated the Haupt Bros. Bowling Alley on Jay Street,
Manitowoc, for 23 years in association with his brother, Raymond. He was then
manager of the Elk's Club Bowling Alleys for 13 years. Mr. and Mrs. Haupt
observed their golden wedding anniversary in July of 1967. He was a member of
First German Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Men's Club of the
church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth H.; a brother, Raymond and a sister,
Mrs. Elsa Kolloth, of Manitowoc, and two grandchildren. A brother and two
sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m.
Thursday and on Friday at the church from noon until the time of service.
