Mrs. Caroline Havlichek, 74, died at 7:3 o’clock this morning at the hospital,
one week after she had sustained a fractured hip in a fall at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Harry Orchekowsky, 509 S. 30th street, where she resided. A
stroke preceded death by a few hours. She had been in poor health for the past
four years.
Mr. Havlichek, whose maiden name was Kugel, was born in the Town of Kossuth
April 10, 1864. In 1886 she was married to Albert Havlichek. The couple
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936. Upon the death of her
husband that year, Mrs. Havlichek left the farm in Kossuth and made her home
with her daughter.
The survivors are one son, Joseph, Town of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Henry
Cayemberg and Mrs. Harry Orchekowsky, both of this city, and Mrs. Henry Basken,
Francis Creek; and 13 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Emma Krejcarek, died lsat
April. Mrs. Havlichek was the last of her family. Her brother, Thomas, died two
months ago.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church, Kellnersville.
The Rev. Joseph Rous will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The
body may be viewed at the Husar undertaking parlors at Kellnersville from Sunday
afternoon until the hour of the funeral.
