HERMAN P. HECKER

STROKE CAUSE OF DEATH OF A NEWTON MAN
A stroke of parlysis, which he suffered ten days ago, resulted in the
death of Herman P. Hecker at the family home on Highway 17 south of this
city at 3:45 this morning. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at
1:30, Rev. O.A. Menke of the Reformed church officiating. Burial will be
at Evergreen.
Mr. Hecker was born in the town of Newton March 1, 1859 and has made his
home there practically all of his life. He was married in 1885 to Miss
Louise Maas, the widow who with seven children, Mrs. Charles Free, Mrs.
George Free, Mrs. Richard Heydrick, Mrs. Arthur Behringer; Julius W., Emil
and Herman, survive him. Twelve grandchildren, four brothers, Carl, Emil,
Henry and Julius, the latter of this city, and four sisters, Mrs. Emma
Acker, Mrs. L. Jenson, Mrs. Gustave Johnson and Mrs. Anna Neumann, also
survive him.
