Mrs. George Hein, 70, of 1210 Philippen St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning at
the University Hospital, Madison, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Armin Roekle officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
The former Elizabeth Pautz was born Sept. 17, 1895, at Manitowoc, daughter of
the late Gotlieb and Augusta Behm Pautz. She was married to Peter Stephani Feb. 2,
1918. Mr. Stephani died in 1936 and on Oct. 16, 1945, she married George Hein. Her
second husband died in 1949.
Mrs. Hein is survived by two sons, Orville and Arnold of Manitowoc; two daughters,
Mrs. Julie Strupp and Mrs. Alvin Krmm of Manitowoc; two brothers, Fred of Manitowoc
and Otto of Plymouth; a half-brother, John Kolanchek of Manitowoc; seven grand-
children and one great grandchild. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, Ninth Street
entrance, after 4 p.m. Sunday where the casket will remain until noon Monday when
it will be taken to the church.
