Mrs. Andrew Hendrickson, who lives on the north side of our city,
wanted to oil the floor of one of her rooms and made a mixture of
turpentine and linseed oil. In order to fix the mixture she put it
on the stove and the stuff caught fire and quickly went up in flames.
Mrs. Henrickson tried to put it out and in the process her clothing
caught on fire. There was no one nearby to help the poor woman who
was trying to put out the fire as best she could. Eventually, a
neighbor child heard the terrible cries and sought help, but the
poor woman was so terribly burned that the doctor had no hope of
her recovery. Yesterday evening death relieved the woman of further
pain.
